Galaxy Note8 VIP Launch Kit
– Making a Big Impression
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 was an opportunity for redemption after the much-documented troubles of the Galaxy Note7. The VIP kits were positioned as one of the first big impressions of the new device as they were to be featured to over 900 industry trendsetters, members of media, influencers, and more. For the shipper box, since not all VIP kits were hand delivered, it was just as important to make an equally strong first impression for those recipients who received via delivery services. This was accomplished by selecting a special black corrugate material that would stand out among all of the standard shipping packages typically received.
Additionally, MonkeyTag chose to line the inside of the shipper box with a custom Samsung blue paper, made from Neenah stock, to create an exciting contrast of color in the initial unboxing experience.
For the VIP kit, the packaging needed to feel premium, elegant, and approachable. MonkeyTag opted to wrap the kit in a black Silktouch Nuba paper that provided both a rich appearance and soft-touch feel. A magnetized package sleeve, using the soft-touch Nuba and a black foil stamped Samsung logo, was created to assist with ease of opening. Once the sleeve was removed, a compact gate fold enclosure was revealed in which recipients were able to open by gently extending the ribbon pull. Once opened, the interior of the kit displayed the Galaxy Note8 device and its accessories perfectly placed in custom built trays. The gatefold doors were also lined with the Samsung blue paper for contrast and additional hints of branding to the kit.
The complete VIP kit was designed to be thoughtful, clean, and polished to ensure the Galaxy Note8 device remained the main attraction during the full unboxing experience.
