Samsung Note7 VIP Kit
– Making Every Experience a Memorable One
MonkeyTag was challenged to create an exclusive product launch kit for Samsung VIPs and influencers who were selected as the first to engage with the latest collection of devices. The VIP launch kits had to incorporate sustainable sourced materials, while still maintaining a premium look to highlight the Samsung Galaxy Note7, Samsung Gear VR, Samsung Gear Fit2, and Samsung Gear IconX. The creation process of the kits also needed to be coordinated alongside the product launch deadlines. This meant all aspects of the project had to be conceptualized, designed, engineered, assembled, and shipped prior to the device launch date within a two and half month timeline.
The overall objective was to build upon the excitement and anticipation of the general consumer market stemming from the announcement Samsung Galaxy Note7. The goal of the VIP Kit was to reward loyal VIP customers and gift influencers with the Samsung Galaxy Note7 while also introducing the device ecosystem collection prior to the national launch. The VIP kit sought to provide a one-of-a-kind, memorable experience with a unique and engaging design.
MonkeyTag worked alongside our Samsung partners to engineer a custom kit utilizing sustainable materials. Initial sketches and 3D renders played a huge role in our conceptualization exercise, followed by physical mock-ups that tested both the unboxing experience as well as how the devices would be situated in the kit. Applying dynamic aesthetics that are core to the Samsung brand, our agency designed an all-black VIP kit that captured the look, quality, and tone the client was looking for.
The final Samsung Galaxy Note7 VIP Kit was an elegant, ceremonial presentation of the new device and ecosystem collection. A soft-touch sleeve with a black foil stamp Samsung logo surrounded the kit. With the sleeve slid away, a custom die cut on the lid revealed the Samsung Galaxy Note7 encased in an acrylic display box. Inside, an angled interior tray was engineered to allow the collection of devices to be propped up to act as a showcase display. The angled tray also provided extra space underneath to fit additional collateral and accessories.
The outcome of the VIP Kit project crafted a memorable experience to present the new Samsung Galaxy Note7 to VIPs and influencers. Also, all creative, sustainability guidelines, and shipping deadlines were met on time. The launch kits resonated such positive feedback with VIPs and influencers who received them that MonkeyTag was asked to come back in 2017 to work on new iterations of VIP kits for Samsung’s next product launch.
